Goal of EXIBA Technical group
This task force was endorsed by the EXIBA General Assembly on 25th April 2002. Projects for 2005 / 2006 are as follows:
Thermal performance design of inverted roofs
The objective of this project is to achieve best positioning of inverted roof systems in European regulations (eg. ETA Guideline, EN and ISO Standards) using optimal design values and calculation methods for thermal design.
  Fire performance of products
The introduction of European fire tests and classification (EN13501 and associated tests) of the product standard for XPS (EN13164) and prEN 13407(building equipment) with the provision of necessary annexes for mounting and fixing to adequately characterise the product for use in building in relation to fire performance. The task force participates in strategic discussions on fire with suitable positioning and advocacy. These activities are supplemented with a fire test programme and data generation, as necessary in order to enable XPS product itself and in its end-use application to maintain its competitive position in relation to the new tests and classification systems and their implementation in the EU Member States. The task force also provides guidance on the developments and impact on XPS.
  EN standards for XPS
Maintenance of XPS in a competitive position versus other insulation materials regarding EN standards. Optimize expression of XPS technical assets through EN standards:
EN 13164 : XPS for building applications,
prEN 14307: XPS for industrial applications & building equipment,
TC88/WG5- N1330: XPS for Civil Engineering Applications (CEA),
TC88/WG5: XPS for ETICS applications.
